CoolRoastCurves Signature
A Chocolatey, fudgy, super syrup ripple of a dark roast.
Excellent with milks, hearty and complex when slurped on its own.
The origin of this experiment will change with season, currently it is a wonderful washed Nicaragua from Haraldo Altamirano, sourced by the team at Hacea Coffee Source.
For brewing dark roasts, its important to remember that it's very different from brewing light roast. Our usual tricks to squeeze extraction out of light roasts are not needed as dark roasts get into solution just fine. We suggest brewing with cooler water 175-190 degrees Fahrenheit and a coffee to water ratio of 1g:14g.
As this is an experiment in making tasty and approachable coffee, we wish to make it affordable. Here is our full transparency of pricing on this 1 lbs. bag:
Green Coffee Cost (17% moisture loss when roasted) - $5.50
Sticker/Label - $0.53
Roasting Machine Roasting Fee - $1.25
Sealed Valve Bag - $1.00
Labor (roasting/packaging based on usual batch volume) - $1.25
Total = $9.78
So we're gonna charge $15 per 1 pound bag... Seems fair to us, but we will continue to look to get the price as lean as possible
